Connections Café

Westside Community Center (WCC) is proud to partner with Silver Key Connections Café to provide meals for our neighbors.

Eligibility:
Anyone 60 years of age or older. The spouse of an eligible diner is also eligible. Disabled persons under 60 years of age who reside in housing facilities occupied primarily by older adults and at which congregate nutrition services are provided.

During COVID-19, “Grab and Go” meals are picked up curbside at the WCC (1628 W. Bijou Street), on Tuesdays, between *10:00–11:00am, and consist of 3 frozen meals for the week. *The exact time is not known due to delivery from Silver Key, however, all meals must be picked up by 11:00am; if not picked up by 11:00am meals will be forfeited.

*If you cannot make the 11:00am pick up deadline, please call the WCC Main Office, (719) 385-7920 to have your meals held for you.

Meals must be requested in advance for the following week

How to request meals:

  1. While picking up reserved meals, advise the Café Staff at WCC that you want meals the following week.  Without this verbal request, you do not have an “automatic” reservation.
  2. Call Silver Key (719) 884-2300 and request meals for the following week. You must do this no later than 2:00pm on Friday.
  3. Go on the Connections Café website, https://www.silverkey.org/services/connections-cafe/ and make a reservation for the following week. Select WCC as your pick up location.

Please Note:

If you are a “first timer” at Connections Café, you will need to complete a short assessment form. Assessments are a necessary tool used to help Silver Key support the Community Center Programs throughout the El Paso County Region.  The staff at WCC Connections Care will provide you with the Assessment Form.  If you have questions or concerns concerning the privacy or use of your personal information please contact the Silver Key Silver Line at (719) 884-2300.

Cost: A suggested donation for eligible diners is $2.25 per meal (currently $6.75 for 3 meals); the WCC Café staff  have an “Orange Box” for your meal donations.

Cash is accepted as are checks, payable to Silver Key Connection Café.  While a donation is requested, no eligible person is denied a meal because of inability to give.

The guest fee for a non-eligible diner is $7.50. Reservations are required.

Silver Key gratefully appreciates your donation!
