9am | Silver Sneakers Exercise Class – $5 if your insurance does not cover it
10am | 1k Walk – Join us for a walk around the community center ending in a tour through the fitness room
10am-12pm |Health & Fun – Meet and Talk with local organizations, make your own stress ball, blood pressure check, play horseshoes, bocce ball, card games, get hands on or sit and chat
11:30pm-12pm | Connections Café Senior Meals – A nutritious meal in a social setting and it tastes good. To reserve a meal call 719-884-2304, mention you will be eating at the westside center.
All reservations need to be made no later than 24hrs in advance. $2.50 suggested donation. Ages 60+
12pm-1pm | Free BINGO for fun & prizes, no money involved
PPACG- The Area Agency on Aging and the local State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) will be there with the 2019 Senior Information and Assistance Directory (Yellow Books) and to answer your Medicare questions
The Independence Center– The Independence Center is a local nonprofit organization that provides traditional and self-directed home health care, independent living, veteran services, and advocacy services for people with disabilities. These services range from providing peer support, skills classes, and employment assistance to individuals and advocacy to affect change within and outside the disabilities system. In addition to the services listed above, The IC has a CNA Training Program for individuals interested in beginning a fulfilling career working as a Certified Nurse Aide.
