Dedicated to loving and serving our Westside neighbors!

We’re completely made up of neighbors…friends

The mission of the Westside Community Center is to provide programs and services that create community for friends of all ages in the Westside neighborhood. Financial grants, individual gifts and wonderful neighborhood volunteers help the Center operate at the lowest possible cost. The Center is grounded in the principle that everyone will be treated with dignity and respect.  As a Community Center, it is our goal to become recognized as the heart of the community.  The Center offers a safe, loving, comfortable, rewarding and sometimes personally challenging environment for everyone who comes through our doors.

The Center Today

Working together to have a place in common

In the spring of 2010, the City of Colorado Springs was facing serious budget shortfalls, which created an uncertain future for four community centers. The city invited non-profit organizations to consider partnering with them to keep the community centers open. The Center for Strategic Ministry, a 501(c)(3) that serves as a supporting organization of Woodmen Valley Chapel, submitted a proposal to partner with the city and was awarded a management contract to operate the Westside Community Center. This management agreement is currently in place and the partnership has provided a valuable asset for the Westside neighborhood in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Volunteers from Woodmen Valley Chapel share God’s love as they provide their time and talent in meeting a variety of needs at the Center.

We dedicate this space to Dick Wolf, the man who helped craft the partnership and make the Community Center come to life.
